Have you ever tried to resolve an issue via the telephone? If so you may have encountered a similar experience.
First you get the "voice" asking you to select your language choice, followed by the menu of choices designed to take care of your issue. Have you noticed it seems everyone's menu "has recently changed?" Making your selection leads to other automated voices when what you need is to talk to a human. About 5 minutes later, you finally get to speak to a human only to find you need to be transferred to another department, and it all begins anew.
That is what happened to me yesterday while trying to ask a simple question about an insurance issue. By the time I finally got to my fourth human, I should have been exasperated but something about this fourth human voice was so calming that even if I had been agitated she would have allayed it.
After asking my question and having her research and explain the solution in a professional but personable way, she said, “I want you to take this off your plate and have a merry Christmas." I thanked her and replied I hoped God granted the thing she’d been desiring most in this season. There was a pause; and sounding as though tears were in her voice, she said "Thanks. I receive that word." At that moment, I knew something had connected, and I sensed the Holy Spirit was using this connection to communicate to each of us our needs had been heard and resolved and we were meant to be conduits to take the message to the other. I then said she could start thanking God for it, and she did. We then wished each other the best as though we were friends who talk on a daily basis.
It occurred to me all those channels I had gone through to get to this lady was a part of a bigger plan. If I had at any moment allowed exasperation or agitation overtake me and I had hung up or been unpleasant, a wonderful experience might have been thwarted. All those channels were necessary. All those dark clouds of animated voices, wrong departments, and transfers were leading to two silver linings: one for me and apparently one for her as well.
It is amazing what God will work for us and through us if we remember with patience we can pierce the dark and find the light shining as a silver lining.
Affirmation: And the Lord will lighten my darkness. II Samuel 22:29
