Affirm and Declare
Note to Readers: While going through old blogs, I discovered some I posted as early as 2014. I was so amazed at some of the messages, I've chosen to share a few. The following is a re-post, originally posted January 1, 2016 but is applicable to 2022.
Affirm - to make a statement, being positively sure the statement is true
Declare- to clearly and emphatically announce or make known a statement
As we know, to affirm and declare require words. So important are words that the book of Proverbs informs death and life are in the power of the tongue…our words.
As 2016 begins, let us conscientiously consider the words we affirm and those we declare, recognizing the power they possess. In 2014, I declared a personal affirmation which has since become one of the foundational truths of my life: God desires each of us to live victoriously in Him each day through Christ! So much a part of me is this affirmation that I chose it as the basis for my radio broadcast Victoriously Today.
So in 2016, I again affirm and declare victory and victorious living, realizing opportunities and challenges await. My basis is the biblical affirmation of the words of Christ to His disciples: Have faith in God. For truly I say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, “Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea” and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass shall have whatsoever he says. Therefore I say unto you, “Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them”
The birth of this New Year is an excellent time to affirm and declare, not merely another New Year’s resolution, but a foundational truth upon which to resort this year. Define the basis for it. Affirm and declare it. Keep it before your mental eyes; your physical eyes; and, yes, your spiritual eyes. . .It can be a life-changing experience. I know it has been for me.
Biblical Affirmation: And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, He hears us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. I John 5: 15-16
