About Marva Fisher Baldwin
Throughout her adult life, Marva has dedicated herself to the love of God, family, and humanity at large. A prolific speaker, she has been blessed to touch the lives of many through various forms of ministry whether by her speaking, teaching, presenting in workshops, trainings, and conventions or by her just sitting quietly, lending a listening ear or giving a smile and an encouraging word when needed.
As an educator, Marva holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Shaw University, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from East Carolina University, with additional course work in reading and English at Atlanta University where as a graduate assistant she taught English at Atlanta University and reading at Morehouse College.
More significantly, she has been blessed to touch the lives of countless young people and meaningfully affect them either through direct contact or by training and mentoring other educators in working effectively with youth. Among her great rewards is having a former student come to her and say, “You changed my life.”
In recent years, Marva has expanded her mission of service and encouragement by authoring two books: From the Book of Esther Four Timeless Messages for 21st Century Women…and Men and an original children’s book Papa Moses’ Backyard Well. In addition to these, she has a weekly radio program Victoriously Today, designed to inspire people to live lives of victory even in the face of dire circumstances and situations.
The granddaughter of former slaves and the daughter of parents who had a deep and an abiding faith coupled with a firm commitment to educating their children, Marva feels it equally important to pass on a sense of heritage and legacy to daughter Dawn, grandson Spencer, granddaughter Kaitlyn, and son-in-law Anthony with her brother Fred. A dedicated member of Peletah Ministries in New Bern, North Carolina, Marva seeks to be a part of Christ’s commission to His disciples to go into all the world and teach.
